For over a decade, I have dedicated my life to adventure.
In winter 2016 I embarked on my biggest expedition to date, a solo journey along the mountainous spine of Asia from Hong Kong to Istanbul, during which I crossed 11 countries and climbed 14 mountains along the way. This journey was the basis for my first book: The Trail of the Mountain Folk.
I have now personally visited over 65 countries, climbing mountains in half of those visited, and have led groups through 20 countries, mainly across Asia and Africa, including hostile destinations such as Iraq, Somalia, Turkmenistan, DR Congo and Sudan. The trips I lead are a mixture of youth expeditions, adult tours to unusual destinations and cutting-edge adult expeditions to places as obscure as the highest mountain in Iraq.
I hold the British mountain leader summer and winter awards, a degree in Outdoor Leadership (BA), and relevant outdoor first aid qualifications.
I can organise and lead bespoke expeditions across the globe for private groups and adventurous individuals, along with television and film projects. My services include expedition planning, risk assessment assistance, visa and permit assistance, fitness plans and expedition leading. I can also offer expedition consultancy for anyone planning an ambitious expedition.
I am lucky to travel overseas almost every month of the year, but I'm always looking ahead for exciting future projects.
